Why in the US do we still circumcize our boys?

To fit in? That doesn't hold water. If people didn't circumcize children to begin with uncircumcized boys would be the norm. To keep things clean? That doesn't hold water. With that logic, women should remove most of their exterior genetalia. Because of religious reasons? Only if you're a serious Jew. I understand that mutilating girls is bad, but doing that to boys seems fine with everyone even if it removes a lot of the nerves that enhance sexual performance. So why can we conscienciously still perform this practice in westernized cultures?
