Why do people have faith in god?

Well, because they've been told to believe in a God. By their community and their parents. They don't know any better. The thing is they don't realize all the contradictions, illogicality and impossibility of some things mentioned in their religious books. Also, their religious books tell them that anything that even slightly threatens the validity of their religious scriptures is evil.
