My friends strange choice of words?

I have a friend, about 60 years old. He has been saving his cash to go to cambodia-where he has been before. When telling me about going there he says this "oh i cant wait to be back in the presense of the young ones." He has said this a couple of times and i have confronted him with the obvious-hey be careful what you say people may MISUNDERSTAND you. but he persisted in using this language. a few days ago he did it again and i said later dude i dont want to hear it anymore. ive been avoiding him like the plague and he looks like a hurt puppy dog. am i wrong?
